Do you wash, brush, & cut nails on your dog, or do you pay to have it done?

I do it myself...Do you wash, brush, %26amp; cut nails on your dog, or do you pay to have it done?
I have 2 Siberian Huskies and my wife and I groom them ourselves. We buy a lot of our pet products from PetSmart, and have in the past considered taking them there to get them groomed, however, after watching the groomers (through the glass windows), groom other dogs there, it was our opinion that the groomers at PetSmart (at least the ones at the PetSmart closest to our house) are too rough when they handle the dogs - we saw some of the groomers jerk on the collars and leashes of the dogs being groomed, and the dogs were not misbehaving at the time. Plus, we saw one dog tied up, sitting in a corner, apparently waiting its turn to be groomed. We're not sure how long the dog had been tied up in the corner, but he looked really sad. I would rather groom my dogs myself at home than have them go through that kind of treatment.Do you wash, brush, %26amp; cut nails on your dog, or do you pay to have it done?
In the summer I wash and groom them in the yard with the hose, and in the winter we go to the self-serve dog grooming salon around the corner. I have started to clip their nails myself after having someone else do it for years. It's a bit of a project because neither one of them really enjoys it, but I save some money (which of course I will go out and promptly spend on something else for them, but at least it will be a fun something and not an icky nail clipping at the groomers).
I wash and brush and clip his nails myself.

when I do have to bring him for a check up at the vet, the vet will cut his nails though.
Ya, it's too much munya to have someone else do it, all the time at least! And for a good set of clippers (Oster Golden A-5), nice scissors and nail clippers, that's about 2 trips to the groomer right there!

And it's like a bonding experience, your dog will love you more if you groom him (successfully, no owies or blood!)
I do it, less expensive that way.
i wash him but also pay for it once every 3 months

i brush him

the vet cuts his nails cos i don't want to do it
I bath and brush my dog. She is too wiggly for me to get her nails cut. I take her up to this one groomer and he does it in less than 5 minutes for $5.00. Makes me too nervous, got to be so careful not to cut to short. Clipped one too short once and it bled a lot. Lot of it depends on what kind of dog you have, some of them need the regular grooming visits;
I prefer to do it myself. (I don't have a dog right now) My dogs are raised with me doing it and if you clip the nail too short just use Quickstop powder and it's all over. If you clip them regularly you won't have as many problems because the quick recedes into the nail further with each close cut.
i hv 9 n i do it all myself n m happy doing it

take care gud luck
I have to pay and plus it is safer for my dog to have it done by a vetranarian.
I don't have a dog, but I used to. I washed and brushed him myself, but I was scared of hurting him when I clipped his nails, so I paid for that.
i wash and cut the nails, i dont hve to brush cuz they're shorthaired, but i have to go to the dentist to get the teeth cleaned
