My cat is chewing on 1 specific nail on her back paw 2 where the quick doesnt have much protecting it! normal?

if thats not normal which i dont think so, how do i stop it?!?!My cat is chewing on 1 specific nail on her back paw 2 where the quick doesnt have much protecting it! normal?
If there's no blood then it's not being done out of over grooming. Some cats have the sides of their nails not shed off and have to help the claw do that. Some just nibble at it, others really bite at it till it finaly feels right. My cat is chewing on 1 specific nail on her back paw 2 where the quick doesnt have much protecting it! normal?
If the nail is short and kitty is still chewing it could be a sign of infection in the toe and not the claw itself. If kitty will let you, inspect the pad of that toe to see if it is larger than the rest. Also, is the pad or toe sensitive? The foot?

Does kitty limp or favor the paw?

Is this a constant chewing (chewing every chance it gets)?

A sensitivity to any of these is a sign that something is definately wrong. Dont play with kitties ability to walk. A quick vet visit will assure you that everything is fine with kitty.
she may have hurt it. over cleaning is very normal. as long as you don't see a bad open sore, your kitty will be fine.

is the nail growing into its paw, like an ingrown nail. that is bad and you need to have her groomed. but i'm sure thats not the case.

just check on your cat's paw every at least 12 hours. If it gets worse like an open sore or your cat is limping it is maybe infected and needs a vet

cats are resilent, and little tiny injuries do happen.
