Why is it NIN Nine Inch Nails and not Nine inCHES Nails?

Thanks and sorry I'm ESL speakerWhy is it NIN Nine Inch Nails and not Nine inCHES Nails?
u are wondering why there is not the ';es'; on inch?Why is it NIN Nine Inch Nails and not Nine inCHES Nails?
it's ok. i'm used to working with ESL speakers. ^_^

This is a common mistake made by young children and young children. I usually hear it from native spanish speakers.

The only way I can explain it is in a scenario:

The nails are nine inCHES.

I have nine INCH nails.

the nails are nine inCHES

you have nine INCH nails.

~~~~~~
the inches form is only used when speaking in plural. [[using ';Are'; in front of it.]]
why are you a dumbass? it bugs the **** out of me when people contemplate **** like that and miss the real point. listen to their music
for some odd fact there may be legal reasons why the band choose a strange name,or to make sure you remember them, a typo, or unchecked proof in all advertising.
because nine-inch is treated as an adjective in this case... like a 25 inch TV... or a 5 foot sub
