I was hammering in a nail into my livingroom wall & now i can smell an epoxy smell near it, any ideas please?

I was hammering in a nail into my living room wall %26amp; now i can smell an epoxy smell near it, any ideas please? It smells just like epoxy glue or maybe like how you smell after using a snow blower(the fumes). Just trying to make sure this isn't harmful. I can only smell it around the nail hole, its hard to notice unless right near it. It is on a well that it just a divided between our living room and stairwell.I was hammering in a nail into my livingroom wall %26amp; now i can smell an epoxy smell near it, any ideas please?
Unless you have A/C piping running in that wall, you're most likely just smelling the wall cavity of the house.

My first thought was that you punctured a gas line. Gas and epoxy can have a similar smell. If there is no gas line in the house, then you can relax. If the building has gas, you should turn off the gas where it comes into the building. Try to determine the source of this strong smell. You might have to open up the wall a bit to see what you nailed behind the plaster or sheet rock. If its a gas line, you need to replace that pipe. And unless you know what you're doing and its your building, you should arrange for a licensed professional to do the repair. Do everything you can so you dont blow up!
I would bet you hit a wire and it is shorting out. You would have felt a gas line so that is not it. More than likely you hit a wire. Melted wire jacket smells like epoxy. That would be the most obvious thing that could have happened. Nothing else smells like that in the entire house. I would shut down the breaker and figure out what happened before it starts a fire.
Make sure you didn't hit a exhaust flue for your sewer system. If you have a sink or toilet below the wall that you nailed into. The exhaust will come up through the walls then out to the roof. You could be smelling poo poo.
