If the Bible nails it...?

Christians will quote the Bible.

If the Bible is factually incorrect or impossible they say ';don't take the Bible literally.

They want it both ways.If the Bible nails it...?
Yeah. As stated by Brian Flemming in his excellent documentary, ';The God Who Wasn't There';, ';Moderate Christianity makes even less sense than Fundamentalist Christianity. Was Jesus somewhat the Son of God? Is the Bible kind of the Word of God?';

Edit:

Okay, Shojo, you asked for a part of the Bible that is factually incorrect.

Genesis 2:7 - ';And God formed Adam from the dust of the earth';. Actually, humans evolved from primitive life in the sea.If the Bible nails it...?
or they say that it was cultural and therfore no longer relevent. e.g. 1 Timothy 2:11-12 鈥?';11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.';

but other verses in that same book aren't considered irrelevent... curious double standard.
The Bible is the truth Jesus Christ is our Savior,
The only message of the Bible is to love your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. The rest is a history of the times and the exhortations required for that time. That's why it says you must read it in spirit. No way was their time similar to ours and no way did Jesus mean it to be. His message was about our inner lives for whatever age we lived in. Without this living message, the Bibile is no better than any history book written by any one. I feel that what he exhorted us to do is timeless. I am not to judge, I am to love, I am to learn. I am nothing in the face of the greater need. Not many people get it.
the christians will quote from the bible as they believe that that is the only book that pertains to their beliefs that they can argue from. religion in itself is progressive. the christians have yet to acknowledge that. well, aren't they in for a surprise..
Not really. The bible isn't incorrect anywhere.

Show me a valid contradiction that defeats the purpose of the Bible's theme: salvation.

Nothing can destroy it, we have the victory. Satan is already defeated, and we have authority to stomp all over him. Sounds good to me.

And you are way over-generalizing ';Christian';. Christian is a title. Having a relationship with God is true Christianity. It's real. Not just some religious doctrine stuff.
Who is ';they';? Again, not all Christians share one brain, we are unified by a belief in Christ. Where do you feel the Bible is inaccurate, I mean a lot of people claim that but where is your proof. Or should we just take your word for it?
the bible is never incorrect. The things God wants us to do has reason you just have to think about some of them more than others. God Bless.
Amen
All religions will use their holy book to justify their desires.

The results are the far right and far left sides of each religion.
We have the Story of David and Goliath ,It doesn't mean we go out and throw stones at big people
In the Bible there are things like parables, poems, figures of speech, anologies, and other ';poetic'; forms.

Usually, the CONTEXT indicates that they are not literal accounts and should be understood that way. However, those who don't want to see the Bible as God's revelation about Himself often ignore this in order to find fault with the Bible.

The fact about the Bible is:

2 Tim 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

(from New International Version)
Who do atheists quote...satan?
I know in my heart the Bible is the truth. There are several reason. #1 All but 3 of the Kings mentioned in the bible have been found. # The have located the area that Cleopatra had her private baths, The bath area where moses was found as a baby. Noah's Arch. There are many other areas that have been found including people. Unfortunately the shroud of Tourin was a hoax but that's when faith comes in and you have to realize and question everything. That's what makes God so great we can learn and question and learn and question-so on and so forth without being criticized by him for it. He wants us to ask questions.
Dude, it is both ways. Some parts of the Bible are historical, proven facts. Other parts are parables. Other parts are prophetic and haven't happened yet. Point out a factually incorrect part, please.
Let's put it this way:

IF you really WANT to find the answers, you'll find it in the Bible.

IF you really DON'T WANT to find the answers, you'll find EVERYTHING ELSE WRONG with the Bible and those who use it.

That's just how the cookie crumbles, mon ami. Let's move on... shall we?

Peace be with you.
I've noticed that.

Here's another one. Have you ever noticed the preacher flip back and forth through the Bible taking two or three words here and there to make a sentence? Allow me that latitude and I can make a Fairy Tale, complete with elves, out of The Life and Times of Charles Manson.

I find it far easier to ignore most of it. It is a bit like wrestling with a pig, you will both get muddy but the pig likes it.
the Bible your religious Buffet.

they take the parts that fit their agenda, and claim the things that contradict their agenda as parable.

anything that makes their life harder will be touted as having been revoked or as a parable.

Leviticus for example. they could not possibly live by these strict laws, so Jesus is supposed to have revoked them. but the ones that fit their phobias seem to show up later, or be seen as some undeniable fact that cannot be changed.
Some parts of the bible we are not sure of, but it is all true. For example, God made the earth in 6 days and He rested on the 7th, a day for God could have been a thousand years, for all we know.
I am a Christian, and I have never heard anyone say, ';Don't take the Bible literally.';

God is very mysterious, and that is true in most religions depictions of Him. It's hard to fully understand what He says in the Bible.

The Bible is correct, it does not contradict itself. I don't know where you see that it does.
I see. Now what is your question?
Because it is be taken both literally and figuratively! Evidently, you haven't bother to read!
