I'll be 11w4d tomorrow, is it safe for me to get my nails done?

I've heard that it's safe, as long as the salon is well ventilated and/or I wear a mask to filter some of the chemicals in the air. I wanted to wait until the most critical time is over, so would I be safe at 11w4d, or should I wait another couple of weeks until I'm officially in the second trimester?

Skip your nails and save the money for the child's college, or your retirement, or diapers, at least until the actual birth.
I would wait if I were you. It really is a critical time in development. I had a hard time breathing right at a nail salon when I wasn't pregnant. I stayed away from the nail salon until I had my baby. I bought at home nail kits and my other friend who was also pregnant at the time did each others nails, talked and had fun catching up with each other.
when I got prego with my first I had fake nails... I kept them and got them done a couple times and then decided that it was ridiculas to have to go in and get them filled every week, so I said hell with and got them removed. but I did still treat myself to pedis through out my pregnancy... both of my kids are happy and healthy and I was in the nail salon every 6 weeks or so with each.
I am a fully trainned beauty therapist with my own business and all the pregnant woman i have treated in 6 years have never had any problems having treatments done but i have never treated anyone before 12 weeks.


As ur not in the salon or around the products daily u shouldnt have any problems but u r best waiting till ur out the danger zone area first.

Yes its perfectly safe, you could have been going for the last 11 weeks and you would have been fine! They used to say to be in a well ventilated area bc harsher chemicals were used in older days, now its not really an issue! I'm 9 and a half months and have been doing my clients hair and nails numerous times a day, everyday since I got pregnant! Babys healthy!!!
My doctor told me it was perfectly fine. The first trimester is indeed the most critical time so just to be on the safe siade I would wait until you get into your second trimester. You're almost there anyway. All in all I think it's fine though.

But i would wait till you are in your second trimester. Your almost done your first trimester, which is the most critical trimester, so just wait. :)






your pretty much safe. but i know its not good to have your nails done near delivery because they check your curiculation through your nail cuticles. (: good luck! im getting my nails done after christmas to wait for my second trimester. (: i'm 10 weeks.
I think you should be fine, maybe you could ask the nail technician if they wouldn't mind leaving a window or a door open for you because you are pregnant, and the mask would be a good idea too.
well i got my nails done yesterday and i mean i wore a mask and had a lil fan by my face lol but i would wait till you were in more into your 2nd trimester. im 21 weeks along.
It's fine to get your nails done while you're pregnant.

well its best to wait till your further in, the chemicals are really strong so if you can live with out it then thats what you should do, you should just ask your doctor first.
to be safe my ob told me not to do it at all to risky! what you breathe your baby breathes!
