size of 2 pencil tips. maybe 3.
what should i do? any suggestions on what it is?
its on my ring finger , and for the last couple days that finger's felt sore,
but i thought maybe i just accidentally burned it with my straightener..
but that wouldnt cause the spot.
thank you in advance!SPOT! i have this yellowish green spot ..not on my nails but on the skin next to it. the spot is about the ?
thats also happened to me before...twice! its nothing to worry about...it will take time to heal and will probably contain some pus..after about a week just pop it ana ld squeeze the pus out..this will hurt a lot but its worth it...use a facial cleaning wipe to wipe your finger at the end of it and it should begin to heal. you may have a hole where your spot was but after a few weeks this goes as the skin grows back.

Is it true if u put on fake nails your real nails will grow longer?
my friends keep telling me that , but i always say ''PROVE IT '' Is it true if u put on fake nails your real nails will grow longer?
Yes it is true. The reason your nails grow longer is because the artificial nail prevents your real nail from breaking. However, when you take the artificial nail off your nails are weak and brittle. If you take the nails off they will be too weak to keep growing and will break very easily. Is it true if u put on fake nails your real nails will grow longer?
ummm no!! Your friends are clueless. They grow weak and brittle and will break! Don't get fake nails in the hopes of getting longer real nails. Instead, go and get a manicure often and within a week or two you will start to see your natural nails grow long and hard. Even if your nails are really short now, go get a manicure it really helps! Also, take vitamin B6!
They will grow longer underneath the fake nails. Obviously you cant bite, peel, or clip them while they are covered up by the fake ones. Getting fake nails put on can make them very thin, brittle and breakable though.
well yea because you cant bite them, and they cant break. but when you take off the fake nails the might brake then.
yes thats true
no dey just give u temp long nails
i've never heard that before?

My nails are stained from fake tan. How can I remove it please?
Try lemon juice - that is usually good with stained nails. Also, I have heard that some people soak their nails using denture soak as it whitens - not tried it, but you never know!My nails are stained from fake tan. How can I remove it please?
Try handwashing some clothes is the sink.My nails are stained from fake tan. How can I remove it please?
have you tried nail polish remover? that worked for me.
pumice stone my friend used it the other day and her hands were a mess!
lemon juice is good or a strong nail varnish remover baby wipes also work
Try peroxide. You can also use one of those buffer files. The 2 sided one... I used to take nail classes, it was a long time ago. There was something in there about using peroxide to remove stains.
Cover it with bright nail polish if all else fails!
place yor fingers in neat acetone for a while and it should remove it easily
try using hair removing cream on a nail brush, it works for me every timemakeup application

What is the white stuff that comes out of the skin on your nose when you pinch it hard with your nails?
it creeps me outWhat is the white stuff that comes out of the skin on your nose when you pinch it hard with your nails?
its sebum, and i think it also indicates that there is excess oil and dirt on your face. it will develop into whiteheads/blackheads if nothing is being done to it!
prevention is always better than cure, i learnt my lesson the hard way! What is the white stuff that comes out of the skin on your nose when you pinch it hard with your nails?
It is called sebum, it is the skins naural oil that you need to stop you from turning into a prune like thing. We all have it and it keeps you looking young!

Wouldn't a house be a lot stronger if it were built with screws instead of nails?
Actually NO. True, screws ';thread'; into the wood and grip very well. HOWEVER, screws by their design are more apt to break or shear. Additionally, nails have a higher tinsel strength in the steel used to make them and if properly selected, have a coating to give them additional bond to the wood. Contact a reputable home builder in your area...some answers they provide will surprise you.Wouldn't a house be a lot stronger if it were built with screws instead of nails?
Have you recently priced the costs of screws versus nails and the cost of a worker using a nail gun versus one driving screws? We are talking about major diffferences in money, both materials and man-hours. Then there is the efficacy issue. Yes, houses would be stronger. However, most of us don't live in areas in which we experience level 7 earthquakes, so we don't need that strength -- nails work well in this case.
As long as nails work, and are the cheaper option, people are going to want to spend additional money on things which really serve aesthetic purposes, such as expensive carpet, fancy moldings, and surround sound.Wouldn't a house be a lot stronger if it were built with screws instead of nails?
yes, there are a lot of things to make a house a home, but those are not the things that sell houses
The Florida Man is right on the money. We use screws in residential construction for installing drywall and cabinets. Try pulling the coated nails sometime and see for yourself. Especially the ring shank nails.
Yes, but the framing time would be quadrupled or more. They use nail guns that put a nail into the wood in a split second. With your best power driver, a screw will take several seconds. Screws are also more expensive.
I personally rarely use nails when I work with wood. I prefer the strength of wood glue and screws.
I agree with Forida Man except screws are still stronger than the wood they are holding.
If you nail a board down, it will come back up easier than if it was screwed down. If, however, you twisted the board, the nails would bend whereas the screws would probably break.
In either case, though, the damage has been done and the board will probably need replaced but the screw head can be removed much more easily that the nail.
Screws are better but take MUCH longer and more expensive.
I agree with answer # 2
This falls into the same category as the use of more or thicker wood. Chances are your entire neighborhood is made of homes with nailed 2x4s or 2x6's forming the support structure. Such houses have withstood the test of time over the years. So, your house would be stronger with screws but it would be stronger than it needs to be to withstand the test of time.
no if you are building the frame you only need screws for the drywall
Yes, but screws are more time-consuming.
When my mom's ex-bf redid he house, he used screws instead of nails for the dry-wall. It look longer, but they won't work their way out and leave marks in his wall or loose drywall panels later.
This is a common misconception, the truth is no, Nails have a stronger base than screws. My husband is a contractor and is always answering this question. Carpenters nails are very strong!
who cares most houses can last over a 100 years with no problems.
No, if built correctly, theoretically, you would be able to pull all the nails out and the house still stand. When building, all the stresses of the structure should put the nails in shear stress only. If they are in tensile stress, the house is being built wrong. If it's built wrong, screws aren't going to help much.

Is it bad for a pregnant women to get acrylic nails?
why dont you just skip them for a few months. it cant be that bad. those fumes are not good for you. they stink and can make you sick. would you sit around someone who smokes for 2 to 3 hrs?Is it bad for a pregnant women to get acrylic nails?
i got my nails done when i was pregnant and so did my best friends mother. You have to wear a mask, so you do not breath in any of the acrylic.

pregnancy do's and dont's
THERE ARE NO STUDIES THAT STATES IT IS BAD.Is it bad for a pregnant women to get acrylic nails?
I don't think there is any scientific evidence to back up the fact that it could harm the fetus. (I wouldn't during the 1st trimester.)
However, I will mention that they are almost impossible to have with a newborn baby. And, if you get them and have them taken off when the baby gets here... remember, the lines take a while to grow out.
I've never heard that one. It is a strong chemical so I would try to research it. Good luck!
Yeah, having acrylic nails applied means sitting in a salon for a long period of time... You will be breathing in chemical fumes from the acrylic and nail polish as well as everything else being used inside the salon. The oxygen you take in goes through your blood stream and into your baby; all the fumes are bad for them!
You could have them come to your house and do it instead of sitting in the salon. They used to say nail varnish was bad for the feutus, I'm not sure if they still say that. Its something different practically every week anyways from what I remember.
I believe so. I wouldn't do it and especially in the first trimester it sounds like a bad idea. The products they use contain carcinogens, proven to cause birth defects. I wouldn't even want to be in a nail salon during my pregnancy.
i cant imagine sitting in those places with the toxic fumes could be good. but lots of women do it.
yes it is bad. because if u sit there for a really long time u can have pain. also breathing in all tht acrylic chemicals may cause sickness to u and ur baby.
not at all, i've done it with all 4 pregnancies and have very healthy happy children
It's not bad to get the nails, but the fumes are bad. Make sure you wear a mask, like the ones the nail techs use, doing each visit. If you can still smell the fumes with this on, you may want to stop going to get your nails done.

Is it true that acrylic nails ruin your own nails (and other q's about nails)?
I have always bitten my nails, and they look horrible!
I am going to be a bridesmaid for my friend next year, and don't want to ruin the good look with my nails.
Do they ruin your own nails?
Does it hurt to have them done?
Roughly how much do they cost?
How often do you have to have them done?Is it true that acrylic nails ruin your own nails (and other q's about nails)?
i use to have them done all the time and yes they make your nails weak and like have loads of ridges, it hurts sometimes depend were you get them done and how they do them the cost around 拢30 and you have them done about every 4 or weeks but to be honest why not try gel nails they dont ruin your nails they are near enough the same as acrylic nails but they dont ruin you own nails
i should know from expirence :LIs it true that acrylic nails ruin your own nails (and other q's about nails)?
yes they do ruin your nails, as well as painting your nails, because your nails are porous like your skin, you know how if you leave a band-aid on for like two days and then take it off, your skin is all gross, well the acrylic and the nail polish kind of seals in the holes in your nails, so you don't get much nutrients there so when your old and blah, your nails will match your age, they'll get all wrinkly but if you do it for a wedding or something once and a while, it won't hurt (that much). as for the cost, anywhere from 10 bucks to like 200. I never get my nails done, i just paint them black. which yes i know it's just as bad but i like black as my profile name says.
Yes they do ruin your nails. I have bad nails also and I get them done. And no it doesnt hurt to have them done. Your first time it will feel weird. But it shouldnt hurt. And I belive its prob. around 30-40$ in costs. I would get them done every 1 in ahalf to 2 months ,
Good Luck.
They will, because after they have been on for a while and start to look bad, you will just need to almost peel them off before they rip off, then your nails will be very thin. I have done it many times! I recommend using Burts Bees cubical creme for your nails, it works Wonders!

I am as scared to try them as you seem to be, I don't want to ruin my already stupid broken bitten nails. I hate my nails, I don't know but I hope you get a good answer.
Just have a pedicure done with some flowery pastel nail colours. Acrylic nails are painful when you have to take them off. ~X(makeup application

Do you think it's ok for me to have artificial nails while I'm in weight training at in p.e class?
K well we are starting weight training in p.e class and we're using different excersize machines, and different machines to lift weights. I have these really pretty nails that you just use nail glue to put on, but they really hurt when you break them off. Do you think I should wear them or no? Should I wait till the summer, because we are starting some other sports after weight training. What do you think?
Thanx

Will I hurt my bird if I cut it's nails?
Hi,
You could potentially injure your bird if you attempt to trim nails without previous experience. If you were to cut the nails too close to the quick, the bird could bleed quite a bit (apply corn starch and have the bird seen by a veterinarian).
Optimally, you shouldn't have to have the bird's nails trimmed if you provide proper perches and toys to keep the nails trim. Don't use ';cement'; or smooth ';dowel'; perches as neither are really suitable; the cement perches irritate the skin and the smooth dowel perches don't exercise the foot muscles or keep the nails trim. Natural perches, made from cut twigs and branches (manzanite is perfect) is a far better choice.
Hope that helps! Will I hurt my bird if I cut it's nails?
Yes and No... let me explain. It very easy to hurt a bird by clipping its nails if you don't do it correctly... if you hold your bird and look at its nails do you see the red vein running through it? That is the blood flow and if you cut it back to there than it will bleed and bleed (if this happens use baking soda to slow the bleeding ). So if you just make sure not to cut it short enough to hit that vein than you will be fine. If you do not feel comfortable doing this own your own, the pet store will do this for you at a very cheep price, it only costs me $3 to get my budgies done. Hope this helps fellow bird lover =]Will I hurt my bird if I cut it's nails?
no if you do it right here iv got some info
Information on Nail Clipping
Nail clipping is unavoidable, it simply has to be done otherwise Cockatiels will get their nails caught on ropes or clothing and they will scratch you which is no fun. So when you feel it is time you can cut them yourself or you can get an avian vet or an experienced person to do it for you. If you do it yourself be sure to take the proper steps.
Nail Clipping Instructions
1. Find another person who you trust and perhaps has some experience and ask them to help.
2. Make sure you have cornstarch or flour or a special store bought product that will help the blood clot faster ready to use.
3. Next get a small, clean towel and wait for your partner to get there.
4. Once your partner has arrived decide who will cut and who won't.
5. The person who is not cutting will take the towel and wrap it around your Cockatiel so that the feet, nails and head are exposed. Make sure you're holding the Cockatiel firm enough so that it can't escape but gentle enough so that it can breathe.
6. Locate a pair of nail clippers and clean them in hot water.
7. Just take a tiny bit off the end of every nail and you're done. Repeat this every few days until you feel the nail is short enough.
8. You're probably wondering why not just cut the whole thing at once and be done with it? Because there happens to be a small blood vessel inside each nail and if you cut the whole thing off you will cut the blood vessel really badly and may not be able to stop the bleeding. By cutting a tiny bit off every few days you give the blood vessel a chance to move back further up the nail giving you room to cut a tiny bit more off.
You could if you dont know exactly how to do this. Your vet can do it for you. In 30 years,I have never had to do that. Look in your local pet store for special perches that are made for that. Have just one in the cage. It'll just wear down the tips to keep the sharpness away. If they are extremely long to where its causing discomfort, then theres a problem and he should see the vet. Sometimes a diet deficiency can be the cause.
i wouldnt cute his nails if i were you , unless u are a pro at it but even then ii wouldnt do it . if you cut the rong place the bird can bleed to death . so let a bird doctor do it.

Is it safe to paint a cat's nails?
No it can actually kill them. Nail polish has chemicals in it than can kill cats and dogs if consumed by them.Is it safe to paint a cat's nails?
I painted my dogs one time
but im not sureIs it safe to paint a cat's nails?
Probably not for the cat. DEFINITELY not for you.
Yes/No....it depends.
Hey, my kitty has neon pink nails!!
they are these easy glue-on ';fake'; nails that are supposed to prevent them from scratching.
they are available online, and are very cheap, and last for about 6 months.
They are so adorable 2....
nail polish is probably a bad idea cuz u have 2 wait for it do dry %26amp; stuff.....
Highly unlikely to be safe for the person doing the painting, I suspect.
You might want to try these things:
http://www.softpaws.com/
which come in a variety of colours, though if there's no problem with scratching, it's hard to see the point of bothering your cat like that.
no it is probebly not safe cause cats bite and chew on there nails
no and no
no way dont do that
Cats bite their nails and they could swallow it.
Yes. That is how my sister distinguishes who bought what pup or kitten when she has litters to get rid of. Different nail polish per puppy/kitten. Never hurt them. If the cat has an issue and chews it off, don't do it again. Repeat ingestion of the polish can become harmful and don't use nail polish remover to take it off.
yes. I think it is safe to do that. But it might be hard. good luck
I don't think so, for a couple of reasons.
Your cat probably won't be still long enough for you to paint its nails.
A struggling cat could injure you just trying to escape.
Because cats frequently groom themselves, bits of paint could be swallowed.
Sometimes your cat will bite and chew on their nails. I dont think nail polish in a kitty digestive system is a good thing.
There's special nail polish out there for pets. I'm sure you can find some online, also check some local pet stores. The stuff I saw was for dogs, they were selling it at my saloon. he he.

Is it possible to build a skate/snowboard box with just plywood and nails?
and if it is, can you help me a bit? i have this idea for me and my brother (he skates, i snowboard), but i dont have enough money to buy one, or to buy the less basic materials (i dont know where to get those anyway). Is it possible to build a skate/snowboard box with just plywood and nails?
Plywood and screws (not nails) could make a basics snowboard box, but the top would not last very long with the snowboard edges scraping across the wood. Make sure to ';sink'; the screws into the top sheet so the snowboard doesn't get damaged.
Better yet, when your plywood box is done, put a sheet of HDPE on the top with counter sunk screws and it will be a much better box and will last much longer. You can find get sheets of HDPE at a local plastic store or on the web:

I just got pretty hate machine by nine inch nails and it says produced by trent rezbor, is this error valuable
is this error valuable or are they all like this?I just got pretty hate machine by nine inch nails and it says produced by trent rezbor, is this error valuable
there's a possibility that since he dropped his label he had to re make the cover and screwed it up. which would mean there are more out there. but (hopefully) not many
PHM was the first CD I ever bought, so I hold it close to my heart, and my copy spells his name right.I just got pretty hate machine by nine inch nails and it says produced by trent rezbor, is this error valuable
Looking on the keyboard, the B key is next to the N key. Besides, mine says ';reznor'; maybe you have a defective (and collectible) version
Interesting. Dont remember ever reading the liner of my TAPE. yes, it was so long ago my copy of pretty hate machine was a tape.
it propaply is pirated or not original...I have a copy from when it first came out and it is spelled correctly...check your source
Trent Rezbor is the bizarro version of Trent Reznor.
haha, no clue
but that sure is funny ;)

Guys: Is it a turn-off when girls bite their nails?
is it gross? or does it not matter.. or is it only gross when they're biting down to the skin and their finger nails are all jacked up and bloody??Guys: Is it a turn-off when girls bite their nails?
Well on a scale of one to ten--ten being something like not taking showers or not brushing your teeth--it's fairly minor. Like about a one or two.Guys: Is it a turn-off when girls bite their nails?
Well, while it's not a deal-breaker, I don't care for it. She need to keep them like she just go them done, but all bitten up is less than hot.
For what it's worth, I don't bite mine either...I keep them trimmed, and just clip as needed. Bitten just looks nasty.
Drop me a mail if you bite them ? :-)

Long nails are not pretty, they're gross!!! Is it just me? ?
I do not find long nails (over half a centimeter pass the fingertip) pretty or hot or elegant or anything. off course im talking about girls.
Give me ur input.Long nails are not pretty, they're gross!!! Is it just me? ?
Wow, ive never heard that opinion on here before.
I go to a nail artist who does french-tip acrylics for me every few weeks and i love them. I keep the white bits filed round, so that it looks natural, and never longer then 0.5 cm's. They are always clean and looked after and everyone that see's them loves them.
But thats just me =]Long nails are not pretty, they're gross!!! Is it just me? ?
I have naturally long nails but they annoy me after a while so I can't resist but to pick the ends off...
But its like the one thing people are jealous of - that I have and I think its kinda a shame becoz I'd rather people be jealous of my eyes or my skin rather than my NAILS which no one ever even looks at!
So unfair.
if they are all neat and all sort of the same length they are nice
but when they are all long but uneven and dirty and not filed then they are gross,
but thats just my opinion
i have long nail, but there all neat and clean, so its all good (Y)!!
xo
i think long nails are pretty, but i agree, there is a limit.
lol, have you see the woman who holds the record for the longest nails? hers are insane
yeah i don't like it that much either. there are these girls that grow their nails out long at my school and they look so ugly and gross. sometimes it looks nice when they are wearing nail polish.
I love having long nails, I keep mine really clean and lightly polished. Though I have seen some people with really longs nails who don't take care of them, I think that's gross.
I think long real nails are nasty, but if there fake and you get them done like French Manicure style, then that's just cute!
ANY kind of long nails are disgusting to me.
Uggh!Fake nails AND,long nails R creepy!
If they are acrylic I think they look great.
I agree! I always cut my nails short.
The only exception for me is if it's a french manicure then I think it looks nice.
i think its just you

Is it safe to cut the nails of a 4 mo. old min pin? I was told by the vet ';NO'; but his nails r long, ANY SUGG
Why did the vet say no? Did they give you any reason? Is it safe to cut the nails of a 4 mo. old min pin? I was told by the vet ';NO'; but his nails r long, ANY SUGG
Oh for heaven's sake - any good breeder cuts their nails when they are nursing. Sometimes vets don't know everything about puppies...
Just go to the drugstore and get a baby nail clipper - the flip and press kind sold for infants in the baby section. Just nip off the little hooks. I find that it is always necessary to put a loop of ribbon in the hole in the handle, so you have more to hold onto - I cannot understand why they make them so small! It's not as if the BABY's going to be using it!
I use this kind as long as it's possible to get purchase on the nail, and can often shape the larger ones with it so they're nice and round. But it's very safe to trim the tiny puppy claws that way - just really be careful so as not to quick them, or they wil have a rightful argument about letting you do it again the next time.
Good for you for being such an attentive owner - and asking for help elsewhere...Is it safe to cut the nails of a 4 mo. old min pin? I was told by the vet ';NO'; but his nails r long, ANY SUGG
It will be fine but be very careful. I have a Min Pin and they have black toenails so you can't see where the vein is. If you cut too short it will bleed and it will hurt him because there are nerves in there, as well.
Make sure you use clippers especially designed for dogs. Get a cold, wet washcloth and have it on hand in case you do slip and trim it too short. You can apply it as a compress to help stop the bleeding. Next, clip just the VERY TIP, just to dull the nail. The best technique for doing this is have another person hold your dog while you clip because they squirm. Have the person take the palm of their hand and place it on the 'elbow' joint and then wrap the hand around the leg. This prevents him from jerking his leg back. It will lock it in place. Be very careful.
Edit: congrats on your choice of dog! They are very stubborn but they are wonderful little cuddle bugs! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have.
it should be safe, our vet cut our dog's nails at two months old. but it was the vet that cut it, not us. why did your vet say no? maybe you can get your dog's nails cut professionally at the vets, perhaps the vet is afraid you might accidentally hurt the dog because it's still tiny and will try to squirm around?
That's ob surd! I trim my puppy's nails at the age of 8 weeks. I can't understand why your vet would say that? Doesn't sound like an intelligent Vet to me. I'd find a new Vet that knows more about the care of peoples pets. No unless maybe he was thinking that you'd take your puppy to a grooming salon and expose it to other dogs before your puppy's vaccines have kicked in.
Yeah, those nails can be pretty sharp. You could try filing them down some. It might take some time, you might want a friend to help you hold the puppy while you work on his nails. He might get a bit mouthy if you've never messed with his feet before.
the vet will do it for you . the reason he said no to you is that its dangerous to do it yourself if you cut too close they can bleed to death
if you do it VERY gradually, it should be fine.
when you walk him, walk him on the sidewalk quite a bit, it will really wear them down ! :)
Yes; You can. I've seen a 8 week old puppy get his nails trimmed. As long as you know how to clip the nails properly, It's fine. I've never heard a vet say no to nail clipping.. weird..
Of course it is safe. When I use to breed Dobermans, many years ago, I used to start clipping the pups nails with a finger nail clipper when they were 3 weeks old!
how come the vet said no? i dont think its harmless as long as u cut the nails with the right tool and right length. be sure to ask ur vet y they said no.
If the vet said no then no, if you are worried about it then ask the vet to tell you why not to do it
It is safe. I had my pups nails cut for the first time at that age becuz she was getting them caught on everything and crying...so yes get them cut at Petsmart they do it for free the first time!
Yes, I've trimmed nails on 2-3 week olds. There is no age restrictions.

No they don't. The rates may vary from many people. But the same rate is not possible. Is it true that nails and hair grow at the same rate?
I am not sure about this , whether nail and hairs grow at the same time.

What does it mean when your nails are whitish - purple?
i am 18 and my nails have been this way all my life. i just want to know if it is someting i should be worrying about now....What does it mean when your nails are whitish - purple?
Have you ever asked a dr if this has been like this all your life. My Grandmother had a lung problem and purplish nails was an indicator that she needed some quality oxygen time.
Have you ever had your iron levels checked maybe you could be anemic. What does it mean when your nails are whitish - purple?
If they have always been like that and you feel well with no other problem, you probably have methemoglobinemia. In this condition, the structure of the hemoglobin is abnormal. Get yourself checked out for that. See a hematologist.
circulation problem maybe?
It's absolutely nothing to worry about if they have always been like this. Unless there is pain, any green, or numbness.
You might have Reynauds. It's a condition that causes your hands /nails to change colour because of poor circulation. Look it up on the internet and see if you think that's what you have. If so, you should try and wear gloves when it's cold because it's not good for your hands that the blood flow to them is restricted.
may be its a kind of disease so please see a Doctor .
Yeah - circulation. Your nails get that way when you aren't getting enough oxygen. I know mine get that way on bad days. I have asthma, so on day that it is really bothering me, my nails are like that...my husband always says it is a sign I might need to go to the ER.makeup application

My dog has long nails and somehow one broke half way. It is bothering him pretty bad. What do I do?
Honestly? What we would do at the vets is to cut the nail all the way back (including the quick) and then stop the bleeding. My dog has long nails and somehow one broke half way. It is bothering him pretty bad. What do I do?
';Somehow'; one broke? My dear, this is what happens when a dog's nails are allowed to get too long...they get caught on things and break and are extremely painful. Your best bet is to take your dog to the vet or to a groomer and have them trim the nails. Usually when a dog breaks a nail it must be cut back beyond the break (sometimes all the way back to the nail bed) which is extremely painful and should be left to a professional with an experienced holder to help them. While trimming a broken nail back beyond the break IS painful for the dog, it is far less painful to cut it off and get it over with than it is to leave the nail and have it be a constant source of pain as the dog walks. Then be sure to keep your dog's nails trimmed so that this is unlikely to happen again in the future. My dog has long nails and somehow one broke half way. It is bothering him pretty bad. What do I do?
CC,
You've got the right answers in here, mixed in with some others. I'm piling on with my story in case you haven't decided what to do.
The same thing happened to mine 2 months ago. It was late on a sunday night and the vet was closed. My dog was in agony and wouldn't walk on that foot. What the other answer said about nerves is right.
The vet told me that it wasn't a bad thing to have waited overnight. It gives it a chance to quit bleeding and the nerves quiet down just a bit. However, they had to give her a mild anesthesia in order to trim it. If you do like some said, you might be ok depending on your dog, but if the dog is in agony, don't bet that puppy love is going to be enough to keep from getting a bad bite.
They gave me some antibiotics to give her because she'd be running around outside all day as well as in the house and it was a somewhat open wound - albeit a small one.
It was tender for a couple of days, then she seemed to get over it. it's fine now.
As some said, it's true that he's a dog. However, this is your pet. In the wild if this happened, it's hard to know what the outcome would be. I've read that some types of canines pile on and kill a weakened or injured packmate. Even not in the wild, what if he did get an infection? What if he gets injured worse because of hobbling around?
The right thing to do is get it trimmed by a vet. They can make sure it's not worse, give you antibiotics, and you'll feel alot better about it as well. It's not a life and death emergency to wait until you can get there tomorrow however.

You could try to get some toys where your dog could wear down the long nails. Is it bleeding? If it is, you should apply some ice on it.If it is bothering him real bad, you might want to check with a dog groomer, they will further assist you by informing you should there be a need to bring it to the vet. Good Luck!
1. Pack flour onto the nail. You could dump some in a bowl and press the nail into it. The flour will pack on and help the nail begin clotting.
2. Rub the nail against a bar of soap. The soap, like the flour, will pack on and help the quick clot.
3. Cornstarch will act as the previous two.
A dremel can be purchased at your local wal-mart. You should probably cut his nails, dremels are excelent!

If it broke to the 'quick' of his nail then he is in a great deal of pain with exposed nerves.
It would be the same if we had an open nerve in one of our teeth and kept chewing ice.
He needs to be taken care of by a VET/groomer asap.
And then you need to keep up with regular trimmings for you little pooch.
Poor baby...................
first, u should trim its nails. the best product to do that is pedipaws. its very well handeld and wont hurt the inner part of the nail. than u should wrap ur the paw with the broken nail with some surgical wrap.
he'll be fine in a few days..... make sure its a clean break you may want to make sure its even, and if not clip it so its even so it doesnt catch anythihng
take him to get his nails clipped. if they get too long it hurts them when they walk.
just wait for it to grow. and walk your dog more often so that he keeps his nails short.
clip his nails. they walk funn when they are too long. i wouldnt want to walk around with long toenails either.
The have this never claw clipper out that's easy to use!
It wont hurt your pet either!
Go to a spa or vet...(pet spa!)
Good-Luck to you.

take him to the groomers. they'll trimm them down.
take him to the grooming spa they will trim them all
';Somehow'; one broke?

My Boyfriend is a clean fellow, and of course, showers regularly. Is it normal to have yellow toe nails?
They arent digusting like the ones shown on T.V. for the fungus commercials, but is there still somthing i can do about it?My Boyfriend is a clean fellow, and of course, showers regularly. Is it normal to have yellow toe nails?
its normal, that means theres a fungal infedction but its very minor and very common, its underneath the nail so it cant spread, and if you really dont like it there are precription pills to take which will clear up nails in about 3 to 6 months, but they're purely cosmetic because the fungal infection does no harm whatsoever. My Boyfriend is a clean fellow, and of course, showers regularly. Is it normal to have yellow toe nails?
hes probably has a nail deficiency
It is normal he probably does not eat right or it could be genetics. Tell him to drink milk.
jst b,coz he loves u
this is a disease of the onyx( nails) there are ways to treat it.. as i can't see what they look like.. he could have them bleached. but as stated earlier it is a keratin deficiancy. have him take vitaimins with keratin. this will help in the long run.. but as for this minute you can have them bleached or you can paint them for him.. to cover it but nail polish stains nails too. so. best luck would be the vitaimin
I don't think it is. It could still be fungus even if it doesn't look like what's on tv... he should see a doctor, if for no other reason than because it bothers you.
Oh My Gosh!
Ew!
Your BF is a NASTY PIG!
he has a vitamin deficiency
it's a fungus
My first thought is a fungus, but maybe nothing. Your boyfriend's nails could be perfectly normal. See a doctor to be sure.
only if he is related to big bird
He could have a toe fungus. The only way to find out is to see a doctor. There are topical medications as well as oral antibiotics such as sporonox to help treat it. It does not necessarily mean that a person has poor hygene, he could have picked up the fungus in a gym shower/locker room.
alot of the answers are on the right track,,,if they are a cloudy yellow /brown the it's porbably a fungas. If it
s a see thru light yellow then it's probably do to a need for more Calcium.
are his eyes a little yellow too? if so he could have jaundice which can mean some very serious things are wrong with him. he could have a disease like hepatitis and not know it, so i would check into that if it could be a possibility. and yes, if they are just yellow make sure he is getting sun light and oxygen to them by wearing sandles every now and then (yes, sunlight and oxygen do help), get him a pedicure, and go buy a fungus remover from the drug store, even if its not that bad it can still help.
Probably a fungus infection, just not as advanced as the deformed ones. Another possibility is that his socks dye his toenails. He should see a doctor, because the sooner he treats a fungus infection, the easier it is to get rid of.
does he smoke? fingernails, toenails, teeth usually tend to become yellow if you are a smoker.
umm if he keeps his toes cut really low then it will fade away other than that ur toe nail is a natural grown fungus...all those commercial medicines dont work he has to keep trimming them....sorry
he should see a podiatrist just to be safe
EWWW
It may be a fungal infection. Take him to a dermatologist who can prescribe anti fungal medication and then cream to soften the nail. It will then just grow out and normal nail will come through.
its normal but kinda gross.
uhm dose he wear socks all day?
It might be normal, or he could have some kind of infection. Here's some info:

lol my husband is the same and its wierd!!! he is clean too, but each toe nail is a different shade of yellow!!! gross!!
it's no big deal...if you don't like it paint his toe nails;)
He's got a fungus on his toe nail, tell him to get an antifungus medicine for feet.
Wanna know what you can do about it? Don't lick his toes, or sniff them, or shove your face in them. Seriously, it's not that hard to avoid feet, lol.
It's not abnormal.
my mom sent me a remidy for that.soak feet in listorine mouth wash.serioulsy it works dont know why but cleared mine up.
He prolly has a toe fungus...get him to go to the doctor.
Its normal.
Sounds like he has a fungus. If they aren't thick or misshapen, he hasn't had it for too long. If it is bothersome, have him check with a Doctor or Podiatrist. There are also over-the-counter meds you can use. I cheated, I soaked my feet in Listerine, killed it, but I had blue toenails til they grew out. LOL! Now they have the Citrus flavored stuff. It's orange! I would still have had yellow-orange toenails! Besides, I have found that guys have this ';If it's not broke, don't fix it'; thing going for them. Good luck in clearing things up!

Is it possible to make french manicure with gel on short nails?
Yes, but the chances of the nails staying on lowers. I have had nails put on when my real nails were very short. Is it possible to make french manicure with gel on short nails?
Yes. Your need to find a manicurist who can do this. And the manicurist needs to take a class from the company sales rep.
who sold them the gel light, and use quality supplies that will last.
Gel and acrylic are about the same. They are both the same as for the health of the nail, because you have to file the nail plate for the gel to stay.Is it possible to make french manicure with gel on short nails?
yes...you simply create the part that you would normally paint only lower...it makes your nails looks shorter though...i think it looks fine.

Why do men have toe nails and why do women have hairs on their legs? It's such a pain in the neck!!?
We could save so much time and effort if we didn't have them. Why do men have toe nails and why do women have hairs on their legs? It's such a pain in the neck!!?
Hey, YOU only have toenails because you want to. Remember, you're only 10 whacks of a hammer away from toenail freedom. Why do men have toe nails and why do women have hairs on their legs? It's such a pain in the neck!!?
Why do any of us have toenails and what service do they perform? never thought of it before. now you've got me thinking!!!!!
Why shouldn't men have toenails? Its not like they pull them out like girls pull out their hair. How bad would pulling your toe-nails out hurt?
I agree about the hair though. Waste of time.
Men have toenails so they can scratch their partners in bed,
And women have hairy legs to give Gillette purpose in life.
Think thats a problem, I've got hairy toenails...

I just bought the ';skin, hair, and nails'; tablets it says its for 18 or older im 15 can i still use them?
yes of course, that is just something they have to put. just don't take them as often as it says if you are worried about it
edit: they are vitamins! its not a medication?.......why would you compare it to anti depressants lol. vitamins do the same thing for everyone!!!!
ps: just ask your parents what they think and if you are allowed they will most likely let you take them or tell you how many you can takeI just bought the ';skin, hair, and nails'; tablets it says its for 18 or older im 15 can i still use them?
No, there is a reason that they say 18 and older. Kinda the same way that people under 18 are given different prescriptions for depression than adults. What works for people under 18 does the opposite for adults. Not that 18 is a magic age, but you get the point.makeup application

Is it true that you are not supposed to get your nails done when your pregnant?
could that effect your baby at all?Is it true that you are not supposed to get your nails done when your pregnant?
Well, the fumes that are created at the nail salon are not at all good for developing fetus because it depletes your oxygen intake so I think so.Is it true that you are not supposed to get your nails done when your pregnant?
no..............have your nails done its a good way to unstress your self
You should ask your doctor.I think the fumes may make you feel sick and could affect the baby.
It's not true.
the reason that you are not suppose to get them done is not because of the fumes. It is because the chemicals that they put on your nails get soaked in through your nail and gets into your blood stream. Your nails are one of the most absorbable areas on your body. That is also why you are not suppose to handle chemicals when you are pregnant. I didn't find that out until I was getting my nails done already. A lady that didn't work at the salon, but does nails, told me that. They learn that in school
it's not a good idea to go sniffing alcohol and nail polish while pregnant.
BUT you can get your nails done in a well ventilated area during any time of pregnancy.
if you are worried, then wait until you are past your first trimester to get them done.
No...it's not true. The ';danger'; is actually breathing in the fumes from the acrylic....but most women are only in there for an hour....so it's not a big deal. I had my nails done when I was pregnant with my daughter....she's so freakin smart (and I'm not biased....the nurse for my son said that she was well advanced for her age)...
If you're concerned...you can wear one of those lovely surgical masks that the nail techs wear.
I've gotten my nails done but after 3 months my doctor said it was ok it won't harm the baby my son is 8 months and healthy so far Thank God
Not unless you DEEPLY inhaled the paint fumes. Other than that, no.
I always got real dizzy in the nail salon when I was pregnant. I just did not think it was good for me. The baby was probably ok, but I was not.
I think that the fumes in the nail salon would not be good for the baby but I have seen pregnant women getting their nails done anyhow. I guess its all up to you.

My mom clipped my dog's nails today n it yelped a couple of times, she didnt cut it close to the viens..?
.... can anyone tell me a possible reason why he yelped? My mom clipped my dog's nails today n it yelped a couple of times, she didnt cut it close to the viens..?
Hi, there. I am a professional dog groomer/stylist. Some dogs don't like their feet being touched, and when they feel a slight pressure they will yelp, trust me, I've seeen plenty.
She might not have quicked your dog, but gotten so close, that it put a mass pressure on it - and still could have hurt him.
You need to take the dog to a proffesional groomer, as they know how to properly do this. It doesn't cost much, don't worry. Some groomers do it for free. I see no need to charge for nail trims, since that dogs are very uncomfortable with long nails, or some may even grow into the pads. If it's free - mom/dad will come back more often. Whatever is best for the dog, you know?My mom clipped my dog's nails today n it yelped a couple of times, she didnt cut it close to the viens..?
If you cut too far into the nail, then you can cut into the nerve *ow!!*
If you've ever had a hangnail, you know what I mean. Lucy is right, it's best to go to a professional groomer... better yet we take my Shepherd to the animal clinic. It's the best thing for your dog.
Some dogs don't like their feet handled and/or don't like the feel of the clipper pinching their nail or the sound it makes. I've seen many, many dogs throw a fit over having their nails cut, even when they aren't cut close enough to bleed.
Added: I've also seen dogs yelp before you even cut their toenail. Some just are touchy about their paws.
Yes, because your mother hurt the dog. She needs to learn how to clip nails properly or take the dog to a groomer. There is no excuse for hurting a dog with simple nail clipping.
It will yelp. But unless u see blood right away the dog is ok.

Is it true that Obama's FLIP FLOPS do indeed support the ';nailing Jello to a wall'; theory?
obama has more flip flops then a pancake...
http://politifact.org/truth-o-meter/flip…Is it true that Obama's FLIP FLOPS do indeed support the ';nailing Jello to a wall'; theory?
I think McCain likes Jello and thought he was being humorous with his silly analogy. Very immature and if you looked at the audience's faces n the background, you will see the facial expressions of confusion and disgust. McCain's jello comment was another cheap shot and not called for. Again, McCain's dirty tactics are failing.
But I like a layered jello parfait and usually make it in Sundays with football colors for my family. Is it true that Obama's FLIP FLOPS do indeed support the ';nailing Jello to a wall'; theory?
Obama is not a known Flip-Flopper, however, McCain is. McPain was probably thinking of himself when he came up with that analogy-jello.
He's for small government, but now wants strict oversite and regulation.
He can get Bin Laden but hasn't guided the present administration for the past 8 years. ';I'll get 'em, I'll get 'em';, but only when he's President. If he's not elected, he'll let Bin Laden go. What kind of crap is that? He's been holding back this big plan FOR 8 YEARS, because he's not President?!!!! Apparently, getting Bin Laden is not very important.
There are numerous issues where he changes his mind. Now he wants to rescue the everyday guy with 300 million dollars, that is not de-regulation. It's a good idea but it happens to be Obama's idea.
He should just stand on his platform, whatever it is, but he won't because for him, it's all about being President. Not helping to save this country he claims to LOVE SO MUCH!!!!!
He has not changed his tax plan - it's published and it's clear. That was just campaign rhetoric.
I think Senator Obama won the debate, though. His comments were calm and measured, he seemed to have a thorough grasp of world affairs and he was clearly more on the side of the American people. Last night, even Fox News said Obama won.
I think Senator Obama is observably smarter than Senator McCain. Can’t we make this contest about “smart” and “not smart?” Perhaps that’s what the country needs.
Yes, though I like Strawberry Jello personally.
Absolutely.

Not that 18 is a magic age, but you get the point.

I think Senator Obama is observably smarter than Senator McCain. Can’t we make this contest about “smart” and “not smart?” Perhaps that’s what the country needs.
Yes, though I like Strawberry Jello personally.
Absolutely.
No...but I do like jello
What does it mean when a guy has long nails?
it all depends. are they manicured? that probably means he's gay, gay, gay. if they long and dirty, he just has REALLY POOR hygienes. or, if they're long but kinda clean, i'd say they just haven't had time to clip them. What does it mean when a guy has long nails?
omg! he could be playing classical guitar, and classical guitarists play with their nails so they need to be long, why did now one say/think of this
What does it mean when a guy has long nails?
He is either gay or does drugs....

I would guess that, since he's trying to look like a woman, that he's gay.
I have long nails. Some guys who have them might be gay, want to have more feminine hands etc. I like it for the gothic look and polish my nails black or in other dark colours, but I dont consider myself goth and do my nails just for aesthetic reasons. Uusually I only grow them and polish them black during long holidays, at other times I need to keep them short but buff them and apply clear varnish. I went out earlier today and while paying for some stuff the lady serving me noticed me tapping my nails, she looked at them then me and smiled. Maybe she liked my nails, or maybe she was laughing inside. Many girls who notice my nails dont seem to mind and if they do they try to be polite about it. If a guy takes time to care for his nails then it should something to be admired.
*Either of the following:
(1) Gay
(2) Doesn't care about self-image; too lazy to clip them
(3) Maniac
*And definitely the following:
DISGUSTING!
If he has just one long nail, it means that he is snorting coke.
Otherwise, if all of his nails are long it just means that he is too lazy to cut them, or he likes to look a little more feminine.
gay...
point blank......
walk away no better RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know, but I see more %26amp; more guys with long nails. I personally think it looks too feminine.
He's gay, an artist, or just plain weird!!
that he doesn't care abt himself and has completely let himself so, it doesn't take much time to file or clip them.
Why do people think when a guy has long nails, he`s gay??
Ok, it doesn not mean anything FYI. It`s just a guy who doesn`t cut their nails for a long time or grows them really long. Stop the judging, folks!
They need to cut them. lol
For some it is a style or a fashion, think of say, goth,
If it is just one long finger nail, most commonly the pinky, then that is their sinning finger. lol used for snorting the white stuff. Hope this answers your question. have a good day!
Maybe he just hasn't had time to cut them...maybe he prefers them long. Some guys use their long nails to cut open boxes when restocking store shelves. Too many assumptions and stereotypes going on in these answers

Is it advisable to grow nails by an early teen?
are you asking if it is OK for a teenager to have long nails? If so, then yeah sure. I was actually born with very long nails. i have a scar on my face to prove it. I scratched my face as a newborn. I would say where your nails however long you want them to be and are comfortable with. I keep them shorter now in my 30s than i did when I was in my teens and 20s.Is it advisable to grow nails by an early teen?
Sure...whatever....don't care. HEY, i'm a midteen. I ROCK.

What do you think of those ladies who keep their nails so long it is absolutely ridiculous, about 6 or more In.?
I agree. They look like bear claws! If they are fake nails they have to be glued on and that is unhealthy. I had a friend once that got a really bad infection and almost lost her finger from doing fake nails. What do you think of those ladies who keep their nails so long it is absolutely ridiculous, about 6 or more In.?
That's kinda creepy, like they have claws or something :/
I know someone whose nails are about an inch long, but any longer than that is stupid. What do you think of those ladies who keep their nails so long it is absolutely ridiculous, about 6 or more In.?

It happens after I paint my nails?
Well i've had dermatitis problems since I was a baby but it only comes out every once in a while, and my skins been good for a good 3 years. But every time I paint my nails and then remove it my nails feel sooo dry and gross and then they get little marks on them and stuff. How can I paint my nails without them being gross, people say it happens cuz of the dermatitis.
Thanks so Much! %26lt;3It happens after I paint my nails?
Nuts help you get healthy strong nails and they are good for your hair too.
Using alot of nail polish remover causes your nails to become weak and brittle, may be the cause for the dryness. (i had the same thing)
I now remove my nailpolish before taking a shower, and the water helps hydrate your nails, and after you are done put some lotion on and your good to go. =)
these little things help your nails alot, and it does help.
Good luck and hope it helps! It happens after I paint my nails?
No it's not because of the dermatitis, you need to drink more milk to strengthen your nails, use a acetone free nail polish remover and before applying nail polish put a base coat of nail strengthener on first, it happenes to me too and i don't have dermatitis :)makeup application

Where do they brush my dog's teeth and cut her nails at a cheap price? is it petco or petsmart?
please just tell me out of those two storesWhere do they brush my dog's teeth and cut her nails at a cheap price? is it petco or petsmart?
I'm not 100% sure but I think petco is the one that gives you the first nail trimming free.
By the way if you haven't done it before, I recommend you trim your dog's nails before anyone else. For my pup's first trimming, I took him to a local grooming site and he came back traumatized. It took me nearly 2 months to get him to feel comfortable around nail clippers.Where do they brush my dog's teeth and cut her nails at a cheap price? is it petco or petsmart?
both are pretty good you can also call them

When i was small used to bite my nails now it is small it's not growing what to do i want to buy fake nails
go ahead! they look awesome! but if you do get them, soak it into hot water so the glue will come out and get the french tip design. you should also just be patient until it does grow. When i was small used to bite my nails now it is small it's not growing what to do i want to buy fake nails
Well, you could go to a ';nail salon';. I saw a girl getting fake nails, and they looked so real! So, yeah, you should probably go to one of those. When i was small used to bite my nails now it is small it's not growing what to do i want to buy fake nails
SInce U don't want to get fake nails, don't. I used to bite mine to the nubs, now they're almost 1in long (naturally). I do nothing to them except rub them with cuticle / almond / hot / baby oil daily (just one of them at a time each day) after I bathe. That's it.
Try Sally Hansons Growing nail polish. Find @ most drug stores

Is it okay to paint my 4 year old son's nails if he asks?
I painted my nails with my 2 year old daughter for a wedding. My son has been asking ever since then if I would paint his nails. I gently would try to distract him and put it off: ';Let's finish our art project 1st and then we'll do it.'; (Then when art project is done, he's forgotten about it.) Well, finally, he climbed up into the cabinet and brought me the nail polish! So I painted them. Now my husband is mad and is making fun of him and telling him he won't be seen in public with him. Should I have painted my son's nails? Is it okay for my husband to make my son feel bad about this?Is it okay to paint my 4 year old son's nails if he asks?
My own son wanted his painted when his sister got them done. I warned him that it was usually a ';girl'; thing and then did it! His father acted with disgust--just said ';that's not what boys do, do you see me with nail polish?'; but then never mentioned it again. Any time he was interested in it after that I would do his toes. After about 2 months he became totally disinterested in it.
I have come to trust my husband's take on this sort of thing, he is otherwise very loving and other than the one comment didn't act any differently towards him. Warn you husband not to make too big a deal because the kid will want his nails painted every time he really wants to get his Dad's goat!Is it okay to paint my 4 year old son's nails if he asks?
why not? And if you say no and make a big issue out of it, the more a 4 year old is going to want to do that and other things like that. I have a 4 year old boy..no I do not encourage him to do things, but I am a single mom...he sees me put on makeup, do my nails, etc. Sometimes he plays with my blush, puts on my shoes. I think whoever said put on clear polish had a good idea. People these days have such complexes! Your son is just at an age where he is identifying between being male and female. He hardly even knows what the difference is.
In whatever you give him the impression that is ok to do, he will understand that is ok to do.
no,becauseit is harmful for him
No. You need to teach him that gay stuff like that is wrong.
um..no...u need to teach him the difference between female tendencies and male tendencies...u will just confuse him
I say go ahead. I personally think its wrong to tell young children that they cant do something just because they are a boy or a girl. Would you tell your daughter that she cant play with cars because its what boys do?
My little cousin, who was raised by a single mother and had a younger sister, asked the same thing when he was four. His mom painted his toenails instead and he loved it. She did warn him that he may get teased because usually only girls paint their nails, but he didnt care. After a while he realized that none of the men in our family painted their nails and he didnt want color anymore, but he did ask for clear. Its totally normal and healthy for him to be curious. He wont become gay because of it, in fact he will be more secure in himself as a young man if you let him express himself, unlike his father.
Your husband is bordering on abuse with his words to his poor young son. How cruel of him to be so mean to a child.
Your husband is telling your son, ';I will only love you if you do things I approve of.';
That is something you should be worried about, not whether or not you paint your sons nails.
Big deal. There are so many other important things to be worried about in the world.
Dont sweat it!!!
Yes, it's perfectly OK.
Your son is just wanting to get in on the action.
Your husband needs to grow up. His over reaction is an indication of how uncomfortable he is with his own manhood. Ask him what it is he's so afraid of.
Rockers, actors etc all occasionally wear make-up and or polish.
Men's make-up and personal care products is one of the fastest growing businesses in the world today.
It is not ok that your husband is making fun of him he is too young too understand that is just a girl thing my son is 2 and asks for the same thing , he just loves different colors i don't think it means anything this young in life to them.Kids always repeat what they see parents do.
he's a kid..just curiosity.. the things we worry about..he's a 4yr old
gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay boi gay
At 4years old it shouln't matter. At 8 or 10 years old would be a different story.
Sure its ok. Then when he ask for a dress to wear, buy that for him too. Don't disown him when he comes out of the closet.
If it's okay to paint a 2 year old girl's then it's okay to paint a 4 year old boy's. (Personally I think 2 is too young to be dolling up your little girl but that's not the point.) I say paint his little nails. I'd choose a ';manly'; color like green, blue, black, brown, etc. Your husband shouldn't tease him for it either. Obviously he's not too secure in his manhood.
no because he is a boy. you don't want people to be saying your son gay, and your not a good mother for painting his nails. nailpolish is only for the girls. so you shouldn't do it again.
I have three kids, two daughters and one son. The son always wanted to have his nails painted like his sisters.
So we did. But just his toenails...and that was fine with him. And we did dark blue. (Very manly, LOL).
He stopped wanting ANYTHING to do with girls and girl stuff when he was 4.
Some men just aren't comfortable with it all - they think it'll make them look like an ineffective father or something. It's not ok for your husband to make him feel bad about this.
This phase will probably pass. But in the meantime, there's no reason to make your son feel rejected.
Sometimes little kids want certain things, but you've got to say no. Tell him why: boys don't paint their nails (unless you want the kid to be a goth or punk band artist, etc.). However, your husband should not be treating your son like that either; it's not like your son is trying to be a crossdresser or anything. He just doesn't know any better. If your husband treats your son like that often, your son may had adequacy issues when he gets older. I think that it was okay of you to do what your son requested, but you've got to learn to say no as well. It's something that's harmless because he doesn't understand, and he'll probably grow out of having his nails painted unless he becomes gothic...in that case, you'd best stock up on black and silver nail polish. Nonetheless, it is completely inappropriate of your husband to treat a person like this, especially his own son.
No! Do not feel bad about it! Your son is four for pete's sake! This has nothing to do with his sexuality (probably your husbands concern). He's not gay- he's four. If the pink nail polish is the concern, why not buy clear nail polish and do his nails all the time if he wants. And remind your husband it's called a ';man';icure :)
your husband is going to give your son a complex...so what, kids do a lot of strange things...I remember when I was a kid I wanted to have my shirt off like all the boys in the neighborhood....I did (no I keep my shirt on as a adult I am not a nudest today because of it) and nothing came of it.
Tell your husband you don't want to be seen in public with him if he can't be more understanding of childhood curiosity
I think what you did is ok. Your husband is making it worse by rejecting him. As well, he has made a simple thing like nail polish into ';forbidden fruit'; which will be more attractive to your son.
My son liked to fool around with my high heels when he was small, but I am happy to report he quickly outgrew (in about a month) the novelty.
If your husband is extremely uptight you could maybe compromise on clear polish for now, until your son satisfies his curiosity.
You're blaming it on you're husband? Leave the boy's nails alone. My neice was brought up in a family of 6 boys; guess what? She wanted to pee standing up. Kids do these things. But we don't let them; for their own good.
Kids are kids my nephew wanted it and my sister paint his nails with clear nail polish telling him its superhero polish and he forgot all about it and don't want it done now
i would be mad he is a boy tell him that put the polish away when he brings it to you tell him he is a boy the something with him that is for boys (play with his cars together) that's all he wanted in the first place is for you to spend a little one on one time with him i have two boys and two girls and would NEVER paint my boys fingernails
I think all little boys go through that. They do out grow it. I would tell your son it is ok at home but if you go out take it off. Your husband is looking at it like it is not a manly thing and he is right, but your son is not a man he is a little boy.
I think that is a really good question. I am not sure that I can be of any help because it can be a very touchy subject. My opinion is that maybe you should explain to your son that only girls polish their nails and that little boys don't. He may or may not understand.
Try this instead....... Tell him that when you polish your daughters nails that you will put football paint under his eyes for him. I think that he would maybe like that better. Explain to him that is what all the big strong ball players do.
As for your husband, he should never be embarrased of his own child. I think that he should just laugh it off and maybe try and get your son into some other activities. It sounds like your son just wants to be like you. Maybe he should want to be like his dad too.
i would say no everyone will laugh at him
No......

My hair gets oily quickly
I use Pantene Pro -V - the one to make your hair shine (although it does not work!)My head is itching like crazy and when I scratch it white stuff appear under my finger nails. Is this dandruf?
It's most likely dandruff, but it could also be something like psoriasis or eczema. Try using a dandruff shampoo -- if that doesn't help, see a doctor. My head is itching like crazy and when I scratch it white stuff appear under my finger nails. Is this dandruf?

Im 12 years old and i lost my voice i think. If i scream it sounds like i have been gargling nails .?
but my normal voice has not changed much.Im 12 years old and i lost my voice i think. If i scream it sounds like i have been gargling nails .?
Your voice is probably changing. Congratulations!Im 12 years old and i lost my voice i think. If i scream it sounds like i have been gargling nails .?
There are two possibilities here. Either you are coming down with laryngitis, or your hormones are starting to kick in. The voice is one of the first things to be affected. Some boys will not notice a vocal change until as late as 16, but for most it happens from 12-14.
If you have a sore throat, go and see a doctor to make sure you don't have a throat infection.
Other than that, don't worry. It's just life.makeup application

Which is worse for your nails, chipping your polish off or removing it with polish remover?
my nails have become so dry and weak i just want to know the best way to remove polishWhich is worse for your nails, chipping your polish off or removing it with polish remover?
Okay, I am seriously semi-obsessive compulsive and I ALWAYS chip off my fingernail polish. It relieves my stress but it is SO bad for your nails! Mine are all flaky and weak. Don't do it, use remover.
:)Which is worse for your nails, chipping your polish off or removing it with polish remover?
Chipping off yourself is bad cause you can ruin your nail bed.
Nail polish remover is okay cause you can get the stuff with no acetone and thats okay for your nails
chipping off your nail polish because you pull your nail away from the bed in the process of removing the polish.
Yeah what nicole b said
=P
Acetone-free nail polish removers
chipping is definitely worse.
idk but i know that chipping you nails can sometimes make them break in layers.

Is it ok to use a small amount of super glue when putting on fake nails?
The glue ive been using doesnt seem to hold very good. And i do have a solution that i soak my nails in that loosens the nail.Wonder if it would also loosen super glue?Is it ok to use a small amount of super glue when putting on fake nails?
don't, if you do use super glue and you hit your hand/ nail wrong it could tear off your nail.Is it ok to use a small amount of super glue when putting on fake nails?
No please don't do that. Superglue is strong enough to glue your fingers together and never come off, so don't try it

Is it normal for cats to bite their nails?
I have three cats and one of them bites his nails! The other cats don't.... so i'm wondering if somethings the matter with him.... or if hes just weird. Is it also that he copys me? Because i bite my nails and he copys just about everything else I do. He follows me every where, when i sit down, he sits down right next to me, when i get up, he gets up and follows me, even when i eat, he goes to his food dish and eats.
?????????Is it normal for cats to bite their nails?
He's just grooming himself. Is it normal for cats to bite their nails?
hes obviously a very loyal cat, my cat does the same, he's just cleaning himself
You'll need to take your cat to a good groomer and ask that person to take a good hard look at your cat's nails. While I've seen cats who are 'nervous nail biters' there are also cats that have a nail that becomes embedded in the paw, which can be quite painful to the cat. Go to a good groomer, though, not to a vet ... groomers are less expensive and they have as much or more experience in getting the embedded nails out of the paw so the cat won't be biting it's nails quite as much ... but I doubt there is anything 'wrong' with your cat ... if he copies what you do and you bite your nails, he just 'thinks he's human' and is doing what you do. I should know ... I have a kitten who will NOT drink water from a 'cat bowl' but who insists on having her own glass, because that is what my husband and I drink from! She also has 'cat sized dishes' for her food, because she has to 'eat with us' at supper time (at least she eats on the floor, but she's not allowed on any table in our house).
No u need to go cut them or clip them and if he still does it hes a mental patient
It is normal coz he loves you he/she wants to be the best cat

my sis usually do it to me when i'm sleepin....she is licensed to do so
I go to tims nails and spa salon its really cheap there and they do an amazing job so i guess i perfer going to the salon!
:)
sometimes i do it by myself. when i do it myself i dont do my toes, but sometimes my mom likes to treat me to a mani./pedi. she goes like once or twice a month so i go sometimes with her. you are so lucky that youre that good.
my neighbors really good but its hard for her to do other people so im out of luck!
sometimes i do it at the salon but not rarely but at home i do it...i cant do it by ppl cuz they keep on saying no you do it wrong so i have to keep my mind on how its going to look...so i pefrer....salon but then home but again salon cuz you can just sit there and not worry about anything..lol
I get it done at a salon so i wont mess it up!!!!!u kno wat im sayin!!
salon only!!! i get acrylic overlay cause my nails are thin and they break
i get them done at a salon beacause i dont have a steady hand.but when i dont have money i will ask one of my friends to do them.or we will do each others.
at home cuz i wanna save money and i hate the wait sometimes and you have to be patient at the salon cuz they got to do a perfect job and it takes a while
me 2!
I do it myself because it saves me a ton of money for shopping! lol
i do it at home myself. that way, i save money, and make up cool designs! like stripes, (vertical or horizontal) polka dots, and (here's a wild one) plaid. that one is really hard. and to do all those designs, i use a toothpick, because i dont have those skimpy brushes.
cool. maybe you should try for a job at a nail salon. i do my nails myself because i'm 13 and don't care if people think my nails look ugly, and i use a dark red polish so it's pretty even if my right hand is all smeary.
If it was for a fancy occasion, I would do it in a salon. But for everyday nail polish, I do it at home.

Is it bad to have thick finger nails?
Well that means they won't break as easily...so that's good.Is it bad to have thick finger nails?
more like lucky!
you can get acrylic and still have
normal fingers afterwards(:Is it bad to have thick finger nails?
its a good thing... make sure they stay white though.. and not too thick obviously :)
You might have an iron deficiency. Eat more leafy green veggies.

i mean, why would someone want their fingernails to not be weak and fall and chip off???
thick finger nails are for wimps!!!
just so you know...that was sarcasm...makeup application

I get ingrown toe nails on my big toe all the time but this time it isn't it is on my third toe What is up
cut a V shaped notch in the middle of your toenail, and it will help it to grow back out. Better not let stuff like that go, because ingrown toenails HAVE killed people before... because it causes Gangreen infection. Don't flip out, because if you take care of it, you'll be fine. After that one grows back out, remember to cut your toenails straight across instead of rounding them off.I get ingrown toe nails on my big toe all the time but this time it isn't it is on my third toe What is up
u dont always get ingrown toenails on the same toenail all the time.I get ingrown toe nails on my big toe all the time but this time it isn't it is on my third toe What is up
MatB is correct. You should cut your toenails straight across to prevent ingrown nails. MatB is also correct about cutting a ';v'; in your nail to help it grow out correctly. In the mean time, soak your foot in warm water and clean the area with antibacterial soap. When dry, apply Neosporin with a bandaid over it for a couple of days. That should help kill the infection you have...probably staph. You might want to check out the shoes your wearing also as you may be wearing the wrong size. Cotton socks will help prevent infections because they breathe. Hope you feel better! Godloveya.
you can get them on any toe..not just the big one. i guess it's the way that you cut it..either cut it out or if it hurts too bad then go to the foot doctor.
