i am 7 weeks pregnant and would like to have some false nails put on. is it safe to have acrylic? if not do you know what IS safe to use xIs it safe to have acrylic nails put on when pregnant?
i think so, it should be anyway, i can't see no harm in that! xIs it safe to have acrylic nails put on when pregnant?
No. The chemicals are harmful. It smells horrible anyway, and gives me a headache every time I have to put it on someone. If you don't mind the smell and don't really care what happens, you could but it's not advised, and if you do decide to do it anyway, you should wear a mask. Gels overlays over false nails are much safer, allows your nails to breathe, and they look a lot nicer. But that's what I learned in school. Many salons have different views of it, so just ask your nail technician.
The chance of harm is small but anytime you inhale something like that, or put chemicals on your skin or nails, there is a chance that some small part of that will come in contact with the child.

As I said however, the chance is actually small that it would ever have any effect on the child.
Make sure you have them done in a well-ventilated place. Some of the people are really good about keeping their salons ventilated, others aren't. You don't want to be breathing in all that acetone. Also, ask for a mask. They wear them, they should kindly give you one:)
It's on your nails the only thing would be the chemicals

You might need to ask them for the little mask.
Sure it is, request the mask that the tech uses so you won't breath in the chemicals
The smell is what

I am worried about, the chemicals can be inhaled.
