Im planning on getting my nails done and it will be my first time what should i expect and where shoud i go?

Well i've gotten my nails done for almost four years none stop. I'll tell you what happens step by step.

1. When they first start they will wipe Acetone on your nails to take any polish off then they will file your nails with this hand-held machine.

2. They will glue on plastic nails to the tip of your fingers and then cut them to the length that you want them.

3. They will file your nails again with that same machine to that they can blend the plastic tip to your real nails.

4. They will brush this medicine stuff on the nail to help avoid inffection and the they will bring out a jar of powder and a jar or liquid. They will dip a brush in the liquid and then the powder and coat you nails with it. When it hardens it will become acrylic.

5. They will file your nails again for the final time and then tell you to go wash off the dust in the sink that is normally located in the rear of the building.

6. As you are walkin back you are now welcome to view the rack off polishes they should have held up on a wall somewhere. After you have picked up a color go back to your seat. tell them what you would like for them to do ( French manicure, Painted tips, Full nail color, designs, rhinstones etc.) pay them and they will begin.

7. After your done they will either tell you to stay there and they will give you a mini fan that you can hold your hand in front of or they will move you to a table that has a light coming from underneth it that helps your nails dry faster.

8. After about ten minutes of drying you are finally ready to go.

This whole prosses takes about 30-45 minutes depending on how crowded it is and how fast they go. Your nails will feel a little different but you'll adjust quickly. Go to a place where one of your friends have already been that way you can view what there nails look like and hear about there experiance. Good luck!!!Im planning on getting my nails done and it will be my first time what should i expect and where shoud i go?
Expect it to take a long time, to be sitting in a stinky area (the nail stuff/place smell of strong fumes), %26amp; expect your nails to hurt a little - sometimes they're a little rough with the sanding %26amp; your nails get hot. In the end, they'll look beautiful, but you'll have to go back every couple of weeks to have them filled where your nails grew or to soak them off (unless you want to rip them off, which hurts %26amp; looks ugly).Im planning on getting my nails done and it will be my first time what should i expect and where shoud i go?
i just got mine done today for the first time!!! it is so nice!! u should walk in and ask for a pedicure and manicure.frst for the peticure they will have u sit down in a nice comfy chair that may or may not massage ur back in some cases. u will soak ur feet in hot water and then they will file and cut the skin around to make them look neat.they also put lotion and and make your skin feel like a babies'then they will paint them with ur color choice.when u get ur maincure it is prety much the same.i would suggest asking thme to make flower designs.it looks sooo cute!!!also pick a darker color for the toes ans and a lighter one for the nails. u can go to any nail salon avaible.in the mall is a good place too.thats where i got mine done!!! good luck and i hope they look really cute!!!!
Go to one of those places where all the manicurists are asian.
well, usually the salons are run by asians and they talk really really fast. If you want plain white tips on your nails (acrylic fakes) then just say, ';white tips!'; if you want a color tip, there will be a chart that shows you all the colors. just point to one. It will stink alot, but you will get used to it. They will sand your nails, try to talk to you, and will coat your nails alot. If you do not speak their language, I suggest you dont reply unless nessecary. In most cases, the nails will not hurt. In some, they will though. Before you get your nails done, push your cuticles back so It wont hurt you when you get your nails done!
please don't go to a bargain chop shop, you can go to creativenaildesign.com to find a good salon that can give you beautiful nails. please find a good salon that will care for your nails
What they say.. I got my done...
Basically, you will expect a good manicurist to cut, shape and buff your nails. They will remove dead skin and cuticles around your nails and lastly paint your nails with 1 base coat, 2 color coats and a top coat.

Extras will be like getting a foot soak, foot scrub, foot file and massages.

The whole process for manicure and pedicure takes about 1.5 to 2hrs. It should be relaxing and enjoyable, no pain at all. The manicurist must be very rough if you feel pain. As a manicurist, I pamer my customers gently. You should look out for the salon's cleaniness and hygiene. If the place stinks, don't go in.

You should prepare yourself by wearing Japanese slippers so that you don't smudge your fresh pedicure, shorts or bermudas for convience and easy movement. Keep your watch in your handbag and leave expensive rings and other hand accessories at home.

Enjoy!
