My 8cm oscar just nailed a 3cm killifish and the tail half of it is sticking out of his mouth.?

He just cruises around the tank with half a fish sticking outta his mouth and he wont spit it out. Is he digesting it or will he get sick?My 8cm oscar just nailed a 3cm killifish and the tail half of it is sticking out of his mouth.?
well, i think you were oriented on how oscars do feed right? its carnivorous and does eat other fishes.. .but don't worry, sometimes if your oscar cannot swallow the whole thing (fish) they tend to slowly digest it that's why you can see a part of the fish (usually the tail)... wait till a day passes then if its still there, then you have to remove it... but be careful cause this act should be done carefully.. anesthesize your fish then use proper equipment.

If your oscar just snapped the fish up he is just taking his time getting it down his throat, nothing is wrong with him and he won't die unless it is stuck (unlikely) and is in there for a while.. just check on him after a little while see if he has made some progress.
hes fine, he might spit it out if he gets tired of it, but other than that hell probly wind up eating it. a real good thing that i used to feed my red oscar was dry dog food. its full of protein and nutrients and its awesome to hear the snap sound when he bites it.

I had a big Red Devil take out a smaller fish and had the tail sticking out of his mouth for a couple of days. I took him out and took the dead fish out of his mouth with some tweezers because he couldnt swallow it.





Your oscar would spit it out if he could, its stuck there. If you leave it there it will rot and probably kill the oscar.
