My dog's toe nail is croked and growing to the side...how can I fix it?

Her nail is growing to the side and not straight and she is stepping on the side of the nail filing it as she walks and it is very thin now and it's almost close to the paw, while the nail keeps growing to the right. I trim the tip of the nail which doesn't touch the floor because its croked but it doesn't help it just makes it smaller but the nail is already croked. what should i do? She is a senior so i don't think my doctor would want to make surgery and remove nail. I don't know if it hurts when she walks. My dog's toe nail is croked and growing to the side...how can I fix it?
I would consider talking to you vet since it is getting thin but I don't think that it is hurting her. I have an 11th month puppy and she has 2 front nails that grew in crooked and all I do is keep her nails short by cutting them with nail clippers and then using a dremmel drill to shave them down even more. Good luckMy dog's toe nail is croked and growing to the side...how can I fix it?
Take her to the vet. He could reposition the nail. For now, you should put a mitten or sock on your dog's foot. I know, it's a little too ';home-made';, but it could get infected and start to bleed if the nail gets thin enough to reach the nerve tissue inside.
Sounds like you at least need a vet's advice. Just call them and ask. I have always gotten great advice from the phone call- at least you will know what the vet will or won't do.
Keep it cut short as possible so that it doesn't touch the ground.
Since u can't do anything, why not take him to a vet?
