So, I was cleaning my lint trap when I hit a thing of nail polish that was closed and it fell into the lint trap. I know its not safe to get it out and we took off the back of the dryer and it wasn't there and we couldn't get to the lint trap part without going through the blower section, so we didn't go any further in our investigation of where it is.
The dryer is a Roper (made by Whirlpool) and the lint trap is on the top right of the dryer.
Any ideas of how to get the nail polish out?Dropped Nail Polish in Lint Trap While Doing Laundry. How do I get it out?
Unplug it first. Try a metal hanger with the tip curled around into a teardrop or circle so it doesn't catch on anything. Then bend the hangar with a pliers into a scoop small enough to fit in the vent and big enough to catch the polish without it passing through. I would try forming it into a rectangle. You may have to bend the long length of the hanger to the form of the vent, a small curve.
If you don't want to do that, Roper/Whirlpool/Maytag may have a schematics. If you go to their website, see if you can bring up a parts guide or service parts with your model no found inside the door on the frame. At the website USE CAPITALS when putting in your model no. Some websites will have this with pictures to order the part you need, but it is also a handy breakdown picture that may guide you through the process of taking it apart. If Roper/Whirlpool/Maytag doesn't, try partselect.comDropped Nail Polish in Lint Trap While Doing Laundry. How do I get it out?
Call Whirlpool customer service and ask them ithey have any technicians who can get it out. It lloks like it'll be a very easy job for them. You may have to pay them a bit high but better safe than sorry... if you do it urself without knowing much about anything and end upmaking the machine unusable you'll have spend a lot of manoey later anyways!
Maybe you could try to suck it out with a vacuum.
all i can say is go through the blower section
