Should I cut my cats nails or should the vet do it?

You can cut them yourself. They have cat nail trimmers at petstores. You have to be careful though. When you push on the paw to extend the nails you only want to trim the clear part of the nail.If your cat has black nails then look under the nail and will see that it is in a ';v'; shape, cut up to that. Do not cut were you can see pink and do not cut too deep,or you will cause your cats nail to bleed. You should only have to trim about 1 1/2 centimeters off of the nail. If you do cut to deep thay have a septic power at any petstore to stop the bleeding or you can put cornstarch on the tip of the bleeding nail to make it stop. But if you do not feel comfortable doing this take your cat to the vet or a pet groomer.

I hope this helps you out!! :)Should I cut my cats nails or should the vet do it?
If you've never done it before, i would suggest going to the vet this time, and asking the vet to show you how to do it properly. I'm always afraid of cutting my cat's %26amp; dog's nails because i'm afraid of hurting them, but if you get a tutorial from the vet, you should be fine.Should I cut my cats nails or should the vet do it?
you should go the cat to the vet, because vessels are in their nails, and if you hurt them, there is going to be blood.
you should maybe ask your vet how to cut them if you don't know how, but after that it will be a lot cheaper to cut your cat's nails
if u know how yea because u aint going to go to the vet every single time u want to cut its nail its expensive
let the vet do it for the first time b/c it's critical you do not cut them too short. Ask him/her to show you how to do it and then you can do it yourself
Is it the first time your cats nails should be cut or have they been cut before? If it is the first time take your cat to the vet if not try it your self but dont cut too short if you do it can start bleeding.
It's fairly simple to clip a cats nails...if it is a calm cat! Otherwise you might want the vet to do it. Or if you have never done it before maybe you could watch the vet do it and then do it yourself afterwards. You really shouldn't have to pay to get your cats claws clipped, it's easy once you know how!
no, to be on the safe side have your vet do it
